Chic Nail Spa @ Bangsar Village II

Four years ago, local celebrity Soong Ai Ling stopped her modelling and acting careers to open a nail salon. Last December, she moved into a new lot in Bangsar Village II to accommodate 10 customers at a time within 900 square feet. It's a massive upgrade, her previous salon could only serve three customers at a time in over 300 square feet.

Since her move, Ai Ling’s Chic Nail Spa has been fully booked every single day. The reason for the heightened success might have to do with its gorgeous set up. Unlike most local nail spas, which veer towards either a Balinese or minimalist feel, Chic Nail Spa’s décor is Parisian and Victorian-inspired, adorned with vintage wares that give its customers a comfortably chic home away from home feel. While most salons encourage clinical or exotic zen, Chic Nail Spa is a space for luxurious comfort. It also does not conform to the local nail salon norm to double as OPI bars. Ai Ling is strongly against committing to a specific brand, preferring to use several nail and body care brands that she has personally tried and tested. For colours, she offers OPI, Creative, Essie and SpaRitual, and swears by Seche for quick dry, long-lasting topcoats and Ecrinal for nail care. For the flat rate price of RM45 per manicure and RM55 per pedicure, customers can pick and choose between different brands and types of nail and body care according to their preference. No prescribed lotions here! While prices may be a little above the average mani-pedi fee, Chic Nail Spa is worth it. We know for a fact that its customers seem to think so—Ai Ling has been known to give nail treatments herself because they’re so busy.

Chic Nail Spa is located at 1F-22, Bangsar Village II, 2, Jalan Telawi 1, Bangsar Baru, 59100 Kuala Lumpur. Tel: 603-2282 5972.
